That tip about switching over to RGB to get the plugin to work was great. I was trying to render 3D in CMYK and was feeling really stupid as to why it wouldn’t work. Thanks for the Advice Flying Turtle.

Where can I download the 3d transform plugin for mac?

Every download I have tried is not compatible?? Any suggestions?

The 3D Transform plugin stopped being developed at version 7.0. Using it with newer versions or on newer OS, then was available and supported for 7.0 is at your own discretion.

On the Mac side, the plug-in was never updated to run natively on Mactel systems (only loads when Ps runs in Rosetta). I’m not sure it was foolproof on PPC under OSX. On PC, running it under Vista is probably problematic, and it won’t load in 64-bit Ps CS4.

the plugin from the download link does work. once you install it in the correct photoshop folder, close down photoshop if it is open, restart it and plugin is available make sure you are in RGB mode that plugin will not work in CMYK mode. Once you are in the filter interface make aany shape you will see the wireframe of the shape, rotate the shape untill you see grey shading instead of wireframes, for some reason the plugin shows only wireframs in CS3 untill you rotate the shapes. Once you see the grey shapes go ahead and ok it and your done!

Downloading and installing the 3DTransform.8bf file into CS3 filters folder does not work. I even changed the extension on the file to read “.plugin” like the other plug ins. I went to the GET INFO screen and changed the “open with” field to Photoshop CS3.

I spent at least an hour and half researching this. Unless I’m dong something wrong, there is no way to get the 3D transform tool for CS3 that I could find.

(at least on the MAC platform).
