In this tutorial you will learn how to uncolorize a part of photo.
We will do that in just a few easy steps.
This effect looks very very good at print design, advertising design.
You can also use it for your web design, headers…etc.

1. Open up a photo on which you will make this effect.
Here is mine.

2. Grab a Brush Tool, Soft Round type, size any that fits to you.
Mode Saturnation -> This is what is important!

Now start painting all part that you want to UNCOLORIZE. Do not paint part that you want to keep colorized.

Here’s my final.

And,a little bit retouched.

Ok, select your brush tool from toolbox. Now, look right below your top menu (File,Edit….etc)
There you should see Mode. (options are in dropdown list)

If your having trouble finding Saturation in CS2/CS3

Under File == Edit == You will see your Brush Size. To the RIGHT of your BRUSH SIZE, you will see MODE: (dropdown menu). Click on the MODE: And in there, you will see Saturation

The process is a little vague, a bit more detail would be good. Finished effect/results and process is good
